South Miami

South Miami is located south of Coral Gables and Miami. You'll find grand old homes, stately trees, and plenty of pick-your-own fruit farms in this charming city. There are three tourist attractions in South Miami that should not be missed.
Fairchild Tropical Garden - This is an 83-acre tropical botanical garden featuring eleven lakes, a rain forest, palm trees, and plenty of flowers. A free, guided tram tour leaves every hour. 10901 Old Cutler Road.

Matheson Hammock Park - This scenic park, complete with a quiet beach, nature trails, full-service marina, snack shop and restaurant, is the perfect place for a picnic. 9610 Old Cutler Road.

Parrot Jungle - This park opened in 1936 and is home to over 1,100 exotic birds. Parrot Jungle features free-flying parrots, trained-bird shows, tropical gardens, and a children's petting zoo. 11000 S.W. 57th Avenue.
